Andaman Trip

Image
If u love nature, peace of mind and sunny sandy beaches, then Andaman is the place to go. I travelled to Andaman and nicobar islands in December 2016 and had a great experience. I went with my wife. Had a great experience with the beaches and Scuba and food. Its good to have your own plan and not fix it with a travel agent but i would like to tell you what i went through and what a travel agent would do. I booked the flight tickets online myself on makemytrip.com and booked rooms via goibibo.com. There was a guy in Portblair who helped me book tickets for cruises to and fro the islands, Neil and Havelock. Obviously i had to plan a lot for all this and had the fun of customising it as i liked it. My friend booked a similar holiday through an agent at Yatra.com and had a similar quotation for more or less the same price[Mine 65K and his 70k all costs included]. So, I feel booking through an agent may rid you of some hassles and give u time to relax n not fuss about the plan[which i d

Memoirs of a speech n language therapist

"I'm a Speech Pathologist." "So you teach people how to talk?" No. Sit back for a moment and let me tell you what a Speech-Language Pathologist pours their heart into day after day... We help a person, whose brain can no longer send the correct signals to produce basic sentences, answer the simplest of questions so he can participate in social activities with others. We teach memory strategies to someone with dementia so she can remember the names of her grandchildren. We help a child on the autism spectrum with their social skills, in the hopes that the bullying will stop and they will make one friend before the end of the school year. We rehab someone's swallowing muscles so they can have a sip of their tea, because it is their absolute favorite. We give hope to the parents who have finally accepted their child is delayed, after the doctor repeatedly tells them he is just a late talker. We teach someone with new cochlear implants how to communicate

VIMS diaries

Was deputed to work at VIMS hospital Visakhapatnam from 1st Dec 2017 to 31 Jan 2018 along with my colleague Dr.Surya Sharan with the task of developing the Dept of ENT from scratch. We did face a few hurdles but finally managed to increase the OP to 60 patients per day. I performed the hospital's first ENT surgery, a tracheostomy at VIMS in DEC 2017.
